yesterday i said goodbye to a close friend (i’m moving to washington, d.c. next week), and boarded the green line train to boston. exhausted from the stress of a divorce and moving to a new city, i sat down and closed my eyes for a while.
when i opened my eyes, the train was full and this little pup was staring at me just inches from my face. her name is cookie, and she’s a fabulous mix of maltese, shih tzu and yorkie. she was so calm, providing me with a little dose of cute-happy from her little carrier. her person let me say hello, and cookie helped me forget my sadness and stress for a moment.
how can you possibly have a sad thought in your head when this is staring you intently in the face? (taken with my iphone)
Tammy-
I am so sorry you are going through this. I am glad for you that you can see the beauty in the world in spite of everything. A good lesson for me.
Thanks for sharing your story and photo. I wish you the best of luck in all things with your new life in DC.

Omg. Adorable:) Yes, it is very hard to be down, sad, or, in my case, angry, when you have a dog close to you. I hope things work out for you since you are embarking on a new journey.
