rather than the weighty resolutions, i’d like to resolve to break a record for cat-snorgling, write something pithy and nonsensical at least once per week, or perhaps calculate the ooze-momentum of various brands of caramel. (that last one was inspired by Cadbury’s Dairy Milk caramels, which seem to hold their shape until you have the caramel centered above your keyboard; they are then prone to the quick-ooze. My H key is not amused.)
i bought a pair of shoes today, which were something of a symbolic acquisition. with the new snowfall in Boston, my footing is not as solid as it should be in my clogs. I bought a pair of Keen shoes with a grippy-terrain sole. The shoe salesman mentioned that “sure footing is always a good foundation for a good day.” Taking this into proverbial life-territory, I couldn’t agree more.
So let’s hope that the coming year brings us all sure footing in our endeavours, and the courage to go forth and hike the paths that lead off the main trails. Happy New Year!
Kitty is not amused. Kitty wants you to forget the paths and bring her more catnip.
